Wouter Buckinx

Co-founder & Managing Partner

Since 2006, Wouter Buckinx is co-founder and managing partner at Python Predictions. Wouter is a master in applied economics, an advanced master in marketing analysis, and concluded his PhD in the domain of predicting individual customer behavior at Ghent University in 2005. He is clearly customer oriented, and an expert in delivering tailor-made, robust solutions.

Geert Verstraeten

Co-founder & Managing Partner

Since 2006, Geert Verstraeten is co-founder and managing partner at Python Predictions. He is a master in applied economics, an advanced master in marketing analysis, and concluded his PhD in predictive analytics in 2005. At Python Predictions, Geert focuses on general management, project management and training. His ambition is to coach data scientists and their managers to become successful with data science and prediction.

Jan Muermans

Data Strategist

Jan is senior Data Strategist at Python Predictions. He joined our team in August 2015 after starting his career in FMCG, where he obtained strong business understanding. At Python Predictions, he built modern data science and analytical project management skills throughout projects in a wide range of industries. Today, Jan mainly works as project manager, data science team lead or analytics translator. He has a solid track record for making sure his projects create real value.

Elien Catthoor

Talent Manager

Elien joined Python Predictions as a Talent Manager in July 2017. She holds a master’s degree in educational science from Ghent University, and gained five years of experience in human resource management before joining.

At Python Predictions, Elien’s main responsibilities are retention of talent and recruitment of new team members. Besides this, Elien is also in charge of general office management.

Benoît Vandekerkhove

Lead Data Science

Benoît joined Python Predictions as a Data Scientist in February 2019. He holds a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics specialized in Statistical Engineering from the University of Nantes, France.

Since he started at Python Predictions, Benoît developed skills in data analysis, segmentation, recommendations and predictive modelling. He has been working for clients in a wide range of industries such as retail, energy, banking and telco.

Nick Janssens

Lead Data Strategy

Nick has joined Python Predictions in 2020 after doing PhD research in geology. In his first two years, Nick was a data scientist and gained expertise in big data processing and predictive analytics.

As data strategist, Nick has grown expertise in analytics translation, analytical orchestration and change management over various sectors.

Sam Borms

Data Scientist

Sam joined Python Predictions as a Data Scientist in September 2020.

He holds a Master's degree in Business Economics from Solvay Brussels School, had a brief stint as a financial risk management consultant, and holds a joint PhD from the Université de Neuchâtel and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. During his research, he studied how to use textual data to generate better time series forecasts. He is an open-source software adept.

Daan Nyckees

Lead Data Science

Daan joined Python Predictions as a Data Scientist in March 2021. He holds Master degrees in Physiotherapy and in Statistical Data Analysis, from Ghent University.

Since he started at Python Predictions, Daan developed skills in data science and analytics, segmentation, predictive modeling and NLP. He has been working for clients in a wide range of industries such as banking, retail, telecommunications and utilities.

Hendrik De Winter

Data Scientist

In July 2021, Hendrik joined the Python Predictions team as a Data Scientist. With a Master’s degree in Business Statistics and Data Science from the University of Leuven, Belgium, he feels comfortable in data analysis, feature engineering, predictive modelling and more elaborate statistical methods.

Since his start at Python Predictions, he has been working with different clients in banking and retail gaining experience with different tools, algorithms and great volumes of data.

Elena De Roeck

Data Scientist

In September 2021, Elena joined the Python Predictions team as a Data Scientist. She holds a degree in Business Engineering: Data Analytics from the University of Ghent.

Since she joined Python Predictions, she worked for clients in banking, retail and telco applying predictive modelling and data analysis.

Nicolás Morandi

Lead Data Foundations

Nicolás joined the Python Predictions team as a Data Engineer in September 2021. He holds a Computer Engineering degree from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Nicolás started his career working several years in different Software Engineering related positions and industries abroad. He then decided to focus on Data Engineering in order to build impactful applications that leverage the power of Data and AI.

Joost Neujens

Data Scientist

Joost joined Python Predictions as a Data Scientist in October 2021. He holds a degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) & Spatial Modelling from KU Leuven.

For 4 years, he explored the digital side of geography by automating spatial data pipelines or extracting patterns out of satellite imagery. Joost has experience in the sectors of asset management, insurance & humanitarian aid.

Samuel Franssens

Lead Data Strategy

Samuel joined Python Predictions as a Data Strategist in October 2021. He holds Master’s degrees in Psychology and in Statistics, and a PhD in Business Economics, all from KU Leuven. Samuel was previously an assistant professor at Rennes School of Business (France) and a postdoc researcher at KU Leuven.

Since joining Python Predictions, he has worked as data strategist and data scientist in a variety of sectors such as telco and supply chain management.

Salar Rezvan Rabbani

Lead Business Intelligence

Salar joined Python Predictions as a Senior Analyst in November 2021. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Management Studies.

Salar gained experience in various marketing positions where he eventually focused on data analysis and visualization with tools such as Power BI to build insightful dashboards for business stakeholders.

Ceren Mörey

Data Engineer

Ceren joined Python Predictions team as a Data Engineer on March 2022. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Sciences and did a PhD research for two years in digitalization of education at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

As a researcher, she developed an interest in the field of data and steered her career towards Data Science & Engineering by completing an intensive training and an internship as a Data Engineer.

Jano Roelandt

Data Scientist

Jano joined the Python Predictions team as a Data Scientist in March 2022. He holds a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering (Automation) and has gained experience in Project Engineering and Machine Learning Engineering.

Bouchra Benjelloun Jbina

Data Analyst

Bouchra holds an engineering degree in business intelligence from ENSAH, Morocco and a specialized master's in data science and big data from the University of Brussels.

During her time at Python Predictions, she worked on various projects, both internal and for telecom clients. This allowed her to improve her skills in handling stakeholders, analyzing data, and dashboarding. She also had the chance to develop Business Intelligence tools like Qlik Sense and PowerBI.

Jef Rutten

Data Scientist

Jef joined Python Predictions as a Data Scientist in June 2022. He holds a master’s degree in Bioscience Engineering, from Leuven University and developed his data science toolbox by pursuing a postgraduate in Applied Artificial Intelligence.

Before joining Python Predictions, Jef gained experience as a consultant, where he completed various projects in the FMCG industry.

Manolis Fragiadoulakis

Data Engineer

Manolis joined Python Predictions as a Data Engineer in July 2022. He holds an Intergraded Master’s degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Crete, Greece.

Since he joined Python Predictions, Manolis advanced his knowledge and skills in pipeline orchestration, while refining his expertise from development to deployment. He has experience in handling market price data for financial trading solutions and providing streaming applications for clients in the energy and base chemicals industry.

Risa Pavia

Data Scientist

Risa joined Python Predictions as a Data Scientist in August 2022. She holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Washington in Seattle, and a PhD in Economics from the Université catholique de Louvain.

Since starting at Python Predictions, Risa has further developed her skills in data analysis, segmentation, and predictive modelling while working on a project in the telco sector. She also has experience in insurance, banking, and government.

Dries Vereecken

Data Scientist

Dries joined Python Predictions as a Data Scientist in September 2022 after he did an internship with us.

With a master's degree of Business Administration from the University of Ghent in hand, he is looking to further gain experience and expand his knowledge on various topics such as classification, recommendations and predictive modelling.

Michaël Caron

Data Analyst

Michaël joined Python Predictions as a Data Analyst in October 2022. He holds a Master's degree in Business Economics from the University of Leuven.

He gained international experience in controlling and marketing roles and is now focusing on data analysis and visualization.

Zakaria Chahbar

Data Analyst

Zakaria joined the Python Predictions family in October 2022 as a Data Analyst. He holds a degree in business economics from the Solvay Brussels School (ULB).

After graduation, he went on to spend close to 4 years in international trade compliance consulting where he specialized in data analytics. He then pursued an intensive upskilling program to switch tracks and move to data intensive roles.

Patrick Leonardy

Data Scientist

Patrick joined Python Predictions as a Data scientist in October 2022. He has a bachelor’s degree in business engineering and is currently finishing his thesis for his master’s degree in Data science at the UCLouvain.

Patrick really enjoys advancing his knowledge by playing with data and trying different models in order to find the approach that works best. He has a huge interest in topics such as recommendations systems, natural language processing and classification models.

Michaël Van Hoyweghen

Lead Data Foundations

Michaël joined the Python Predictions team as a Data Engineer in November 2022. He holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Ghent.

After working for some years as an electronics engineer, Michaël made the switch to the data domain and started working as a data engineering consultant. For more than four years, Michaël has been designing and developing data pipelines, applications and platforms to deliver business-ready data to clients.

Karim Chrouabi

Data Analyst

Karim joined Python Predictions as a Data Analyst following several years of experience in consulting. He holds a master’s degree in management information systems and an advanced master’s degree in Data Science for Business from the University of Ghent.

Karim has experience implementing BI solutions for operations (inventory, supply chain), marketing (customer segmentation, churn) and sales covering the entire process from setting up the ETL pipelines to visualization.

Hilde De Coninck

Recruiter

Hilde Joined Python Predictions in December 2022 as a Talent Hunter after working in the same role for Tobania Development the previous year. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources.

Before joining Tobania she gained a lot of experience in recruitment sector but also in the non-profit sector.

Pedro Román Infante

Data Scientist

In December 2022, Pedro joined Python Predictions as a Data Scientist. He holds a Master's degree in Big Data Analytics for Business.

After his experience as a software developer, Pedro has decided to change track to Data Science, interested by the understanding of business problems and application of data for their growth and customer satisfaction.

Diederik Lauwers

Business Analyst

Diederik joined Python Predictions in January 2023 as a Business Analyst. He holds a master’s degree in business engineering: data analytics from the University of Ghent.

Diederik has experience in reporting, analytics and project management. He is eager to help companies structure and organize their data processes and steer them towards more data-driven decision-making.

Thibault Fabry

Business Development Manager

Thibault joined Python Predictions as a Business Development Manager in February 2023 after various sales positions, where he gained experience in setting up and executing sales processes going from ideation to execution.

As a consultative professional, Thibault will be the person who will understand and support your challenges into becoming a data-driven organization. He will evangelize the potential data can bring and build bridges between all related stakeholders.
